The high temperature aerobic fermentation tank runs a 7-day cycle, compared to 30-60 days for open windrow composting, inside a footprint as small as 60-120 m². Inside, the process moves through three stages: an initial bio-activation phase where the core temperature climbs to 55°C within 24-48 hours, a thermophilic hold at 55-65°C sustained for a minimum of 72 hours – the step that actually inactivates pathogens and weed seeds – and a final cooling and maturation stage that leaves a stable, non-phytotoxic organic fertilizer ready for field use or sale.
The whole system is configurable to your site’s specific requirements, including odor control add-ons where local conditions call for it. Open windrow composting is cheap to start but expensive to run at scale: it needs far more land, produces inconsistent quality because piles develop cold spots that never fully inactivate pathogens, and generates the leachate runoff and odor that increasingly put open compost yards under regulatory scrutiny. A sealed high temperature aerobic fermentation tank solves all three at once, while turning what used to be a disposal cost into a fertilizer product that can be sold or reused on-farm.
